Friends of Grenfell Library (FOGL) are looking for more members to help us to be able to assist the Librarian further in her ability to be able to purchase more books for those who love reading and raise money to assist with the many benefits that the library brings to the community.

FOGL is now in its 21st year and without the fundraising efforts of FOGL this will affect the Library in the following way.
FOGL pays the yearly subscription to Roadshow which allows us to show regular movies in the cinema.
The current subscription will expire in December 2021 if FOGL is forced to disband due to lack of support.
In the 21 years FOGL has assisted in the purchase of The Grenfell Record on Microfilm which is currently up until 1999 and we were looking at adding more this year.
We have also purchased a coffee table for the Library, black bay ends as well as a donation of $1000 towards the binge DVD Collection.
FOGL also assist in the purchase of books to go in the Baby book packs that are delivered by community health to all newborn babies so they receive their very first book, again if due to lack of community support this will also cease.
During the time I have been President we have had two Christmas parties and members made a decision that instead of secret Santa we would all donate money which would then be passed on to a local Charity, due to COVID we were unable to hold a Christmas Party last year however the two previous years both donations have been received by The Country Education Foundation to assist youth in our community to be able to further their education.
Meetings are held once a month from February to November and a decision has been made to change back to day time meetings with the next meeting to be held on the 23rd of March at 11am.
Twice a year to raise money we also hold a street stall the next one to be held on the 19th of March.
It is with a heavy heart I write this but unless we are able to gain more community support.
It is very likely that FOGL after 21 years will no longer be part of our local community.
If you or your children enjoy what FOGL does to assist the Librarian Please contact me on 0400499723 if you feel you could assist in any way whether it's helping at the cinema, assisting us with street stalls which is very much needed and/ or attending the monthly meetings it would be very much appreciated.
