After starting her apprenticeship in Canberra Tammy returned to her home town and took over a small Barber Shop owned by Val Lowe which was located where IGA is now.
The business grew and grew with Tammy moving across to 115 Main Street, the small shop next to her current one, which was eventually outgrown and moved into the salon at its current location.
Tammy believes if it wasn't for her fantastic and supportive clients in Grenfell she wouldn't have been the success she has been.
"I would like to thank all of my clients for their loyalty and friendship over 23 years," Tammy said.
"I am going to miss you all."
Tammy also wanted to thank all of her staff for their dedication, support and help throughout the past two and a bit decades.
"I would like to thank all my wonderful staff over the years who have made my career enjoyable and business successful," she said.
"I would like to make special mention to Julie Gordon who worked in the salon for many years.
"I wish her a happy, healthy retirement. Thank you Julie!"
However, despite Tammy hanging up her scissors locals shouldn't fear they won't be able to get a cut or colour done with the owner of Tammy's Hair Design handing the keys to her business over to new owner and hairdresser Kate Reeves who returned to Grenfell three years ago.
"I would like to congratulate the new owner of Tammy's Hair Design Kate Reeves and wish her all the very best for many years of happiness in her new business Hair by Kate.
Tammy is extremely happy that the business has been taken over by another local who left and returned bringing their new skills with them.
"Grenfell is very lucky to have such a talented hairdresser in our country town," Tammy said.
"All the best Kate."
As for the future, Tammy said she has something in the pipeline.
