Woodbridge had a good day winning all five games starting with the under 13s development team who won 26-4 after a tight tussle for the majority of the match only consolidating the win in the final quarter.
The under 14s clash was a bit scrappy at times but the closeness of the scores and determination in defence by both sides resulted in an entertaining contest.
Woodbridge were just able to hold out the fast finishing Platypi 6-4.
The under 16s was also a scrappy affair until Woodbridge settled and a couple of their bigger forwards took control resulting in a strong 44-4 victory.
The under 18s (36-10) and First Grade (34-8) games were won by Woodbridge with the home teams finishing the stronger in the contests.
These last two games of the day were good spectacles and the score lines fail to give a true indication of how competitive they were.
This Saturday the Woodbridge teams have an away game when they travel to Spooner Oval Forbes to take on the Wiradjuri Goannas (Dubbo) with the under 14s kicking off at 10am followed by the 16s (11.20am), 18s (12.40pm), and First Grade rounding off proceedings at 2.00pm.
The Goannas club are at home for the first time this season and are strong in all grades so the Woodbridge girls will have their work cut out for them with early weather forecasts also suggesting they could be confronted with wet conditions.
The other two fixtures for round three of the competition are also to be held on Saturday when the Orange Vipers host the Midwest Brumbies and the Castlereagh Cougars travel to Bathurst to take on the Panorama Platypi.
In other round two results from last Saturday the Goannas defeated the Midwest Brumbies at Mudgee in the 16s (30-0), 18s (46-4), and First Grade (36-6) but went down 10-4 in the 14s.
The Vipers at home against the Cougars went down 32-20 in the 16s but they won the 14s (38-0), 18s (28-18) and First Grade (68-10).
