Grenfell's Robert Anderson took out the Jamo's Mini Digger Pace with Holy Camp Rob ($6.50); the third win in the gelding's 15 start career while fellow Grenfell trainer Mark Hewitt was able to secure two minor placings with Mighty Joe ($2.30, tote place) and Sporty Mickilla ($3, fixed place) respectively.
The highlight of the meeting was undoubtedly the running of the West Wyalong Services and Citizens Club Pacers Cup, and the race has a proud history, marked by the fact the club has been sponsoring the event for over 30 years.
There was an early rush for the lead as soon as the arm folded back, and it was Kanena Provlima ($19) who was able to secure the spot but it didn't take long before the two favourites, Major Roll ($3.90) and Sydney visitor Golden Year ($1.75), streamed forward from three wide to take up the running, with the former able to hold on for the lead from them on.
Kanena Provlima ($4, tote place) eased out from one back to secure second at a good price while the luckless Firestorm Red, trained by star Bathurst trainer Steve Turnbull, kept hitting rump but flew home to finish third ($2.30, tote place)
The win was yet another feather in the cap for Major Roll, who has won the Coolamon Cup, Junee Cup and a NSW Breeders 2YO Final.
