- fail to prevent dog escaping - $220.00 penalty infringement notice
- Own/be in charge of dog uncontrolled in public place - $330.00 penalty infringement notice

"If your dog commits an offence and has been or is in the process of being declared menacing or dangerous a penalty of up to $1,760 may be incurred," Allison said.
"Please ensure that your dog is always kept contained and secure on your private property and is always kept on a leash whilst in a public place."
According to Allison dogs must be microchipped by either 12 weeks of age or at point of sale, and registered by six months of age.
"Breaches of the legislative requirements may enable Council to take any appropriate action to ensure compliance," Allison said.
"This may include but is not limited to impounding your dog and/or issuing a Penalty Infringement Notice with no further warning."
