By the time the paper goes to print students will have already undertaken two English exams as well as Maths with another week and a half of exams to go.

Joining locals in well wishing the students on their final leg of High School are Member for Cootamundra Steph Cooke.

Ms Cooke said her thoughts would be with the nearly 450 students including those from THLHS sitting HSC exams across the electorate from Monday.

"This is an exciting and nervous time for many students sitting their HSC," Ms Cooke said.

"I can remember how anxious I was before my exams.

"I want to wish everyone the best of luck.

"To each and every one in the Cootamundra electorate heading in to their exams, stay focused, keep calm, and remember that these exams are not the be all and end all, there are always other ways in to university, other avenues to undertake tertiary study, and rewarding careers that don't require a high ATAR."

Ms Cooke is encouraging all students undertaking their HSC to have faith in themselves and make themselves proud.

"Believe in yourself and remember that the most important person to make proud with your efforts is yourself," she said.

However, it isn't only the students Ms Cooke wishes to congratulate on making it to this momentous milestone, extending a congratulatory message for teachers and parents as well.

"And to our teachers, families and school communities supporting an HSC student, congratulations on getting to this point and thank you for your hard work throughout this challenging school year."
