The Grenfell Newsagency also celebrated its first year in their new premises Bradley & Frazer near the Chrysler Car Museum.
WELCOME VISITORS: Many residents welcomed their families home for the school holidays and long weekend. The accommodation houses were well supported as were the Grenfell Caravan Park and the free park at the Grenfell Railway Station.
Many of these visitors left notes of appreciation as well as their dockets to prove that they had spent very well on fuel, food and items from the many stores that were open over the weekend.
It was wonderful to see so many happy families and visitors out and about enjoying the lovely spring days. Families were seen having a wonderful time canoeing on Company Dam now that it is full to the brim. Families were also delighted to see the Grenfell Aquatic Centre opened on Monday.
VISITING HOME: Demelza and Mark Neich and their children Charles, Henry and Sophia from Jerrabomberra enjoyed the long weekend at home with Demelza's parents John and Sharon Grant. They were photographed enjoying a coffee and milkshakes at Unwind.
Whilst home Sophia celebrated her 2nd birthday.
ORIGAMI: Dot Lamkin, 96 years young, a resident of the Grenfell MPS has been very busy making Origami birds.
Dot has made a lovely display for all the residents, staff and visitors to enjoy. A remarkable lady.
SCHOOL HOLIDAYS: Annmarrie Lester and her three children Abbey, Aurora and Astrid enjoyed a morning shopping on Friday and were happy to be photographed. A beautiful family.
CORONATION COLLECTABLES formerly of Murringo will be opened in Grenfell today, Friday October 02. The shop is in central Main St near the Pharmacy. Opening hours Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday - 10am - 4pm. Pop in and say hi and welcome to Tony Porter and John Richens.
Former residents Judy Margerison and Sue Aylen (nee Keppie) were in town for a family get together and enjoyed a visit to the beautiful shop with Graham Eppelstun and Chad White.
FINANCIAL CAPABILITY: On Friday October 02, Tracy Reid and Shardai Charters from CatholicCare Wilcannia-Forbes had a stand in front of IGA Grenfell providing information on a broad range of programs and services caring for the wellbeing of individuals, families and communities, especially the vulnerable and at risk.
CatholicCare provides FREE awareness workshops to develop skill in managing money and making sound financial decisions for individuals and families. They provide financial literacy information, education and support. The workshops cover many different topics including: Scams, Credit and Debt, Problem Gambling, Consumer Rights, Energy and Water Saving, Fines and Funerals They may support you by phone, online and with face to face services in Grenfell. GRENFELL ART GALLERY: "Kaleidoscope" - Last chance to see this outstanding exhibition as it finishes on October 14. Their work includes contemporary machine and hand embroidery and felting in sculptural and 2D form.
the next exhibition opening "'Legacy: bequest, inheritance, heritage, gift'" by Merilyn McDonald and Jillian Reidy being held on Friday 16th October.
The gallery is open daily Monday to Friday 10am -4pm, Saturday 10am - 4pm and Sunday 10am - 2pm

GUNYAH: The Craft Shop wish to thank the locals and visitors who supported them over the busy long weekend. They stock a range of baby's clothing and knitwear, cakes and slices, plants, art and homemade craft items, some Grenfell merchandise as well as eggs, honey and seasonal produce. Opening hours are 10.00am to 3.00pm Tuesday to Saturday.
You may bring in homemade crafts, cakes, slices, jams, preserves and home grown produce to be sold on consignment. The committee passes on the commission from sales of contributor's items to provide financial assistance to local primary and high school students as well as support the local food hall and rural aid.
