The community's 'premiere' sporting facility received three allocations of funding from the NSW Government's Stronger Country Communities Fund.
The project received $50,000 for a fitness circuit (located at the opposite side of the oval), $110,000 for a new grandstand and club house, and $820,000 for new amenities.
Ms Cooke said the new facilities were an investment in the future of the Grenfell community.
"This community deserves state of the art facilities and up to date spaces to exercise, play and watch sport," Ms Cooke said.
"I am so proud of what has been achieved here.
"Congratulations to the entire Weddin Shire Council, staff and contractors who have been part of this project."
Weddin Shire Council Mayor Mark Liebich said sport is a vital part of country communities and the upgraded facilities will be much enjoyed not only in being utilised but in bringing the community together.
"This facility will be the home of the Grenfell Goannas, the Grenfell Girlannas and the Grenfell Junior Rugby League teams," Mr Liebich said.
"These facilities will attract a range of ages and sporting interests such as touch football and soccer and exercise groups just to name a few."
The grounds are also used by Grenfell Cricket Club, Grenfell Soccer Club and locals who regularly exercise.
"This facility is a major milestone for Weddin Shire Community," Mr Liebich said.
