GRENFELL ART GALLERY: A successful evening was held on Friday July 24 for the reopening of the Grenfell Art Gallery and the new exhibition by Shani Nottingham "Inside Life Inside". Due to COVID-19 safety rules only a limited number of 30 people could attend, and it was at maximum capacity. Art and Tourism Officer Claire McCann welcomed everyone and thanked the volunteers Di Griffith, Hugh Moffitt and Mary Moffitt for helping with the installation of the exhibition.

Shani was then invited forward to talk about her exhibition. It was a wonderful talk where she explained about all the different aspects of the display. She also went on to talk about her bread tag artwork and 'The Bread Tag Project"

WEDDIN COMMUNITY TRANSPORT SERVICE: Community Transport is in desperate need of Volunteer drivers to allow them to keep up with the demand for both short and long distance trips.
Michelle Cook the new Co-ordinator in Grenfell would love to hear from anyone who likes driving and has some spare time to assist others in the community. Drivers would need to undergo a medical, a Criminal Record check and a Working With Children check.

CEF GRENFELL: Country Education Foundation Grenfell and Grenfell Panther's Rugby Union Club are working together in 2020 to support our country kids.
Each home game CEF Committee members and families assist on the gate.
Clemence Matchett, Peter Spedding, Ron McLelland, Hilary Matchett and Bec Condon were photographed manning the gates on July 18. Fantastic to see Rugby up and running once more in Grenfell.
The Country Education Foundation of Grenfell provides grants and scholarships to help young people of Weddin Shire access further education, training and jobs.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY: Joan McSpadden celebrated her 89th Birthday on Sunday July 26 at "Allowah", home of her daughter Tracie and son in law Glen Ivins. Also present were sons Rob and Gary, brother George Hampton, Grandson David Armstrong, Glen's daughter Brooke Ivins and Ian and Jenny Armstrong.
WHERE'S DAVE: Can you spot David Armstrong amongst the two metre Marshmallow grass. The mallow has had prolific growth due to the ideal conditions this season.
Much of the lovely green that can be seen in the paddocks and vacant blocks around the town is from the abundant weed Malva Parviflora.
PHYLLIS MARY BLISS: Grenfell residents will be saddened to learn of the death of former resident Phyllis Mary Bliss, on July 06 - Loving wife of Rev. D. W. Bliss (dec). Mother of Di (dec), Graeme, Julie and Peter. Much loved sister and grandmother. Aged 91 years. A Covid restricted funeral service was held on July 13 at Northern Suburbs Memorial Gardens North Chapel.
SINCERE SYMPATHY: Sympathy is extended to the families who have loved ones recently including Robert "Butch" Joseph Baker, John "Jack" Allan Grant, former residents Lola Josephine Madden, Ronald Webb and Phyllis Mary Bliss, Ansley Maxwell Edwards from Thuddungra, Marion Barker (Katie Mitton's mother), Joyce Cecilia Stonestreet (Aylen) formerly of Caragabal and Robert John Ryan known as Bert, whose funeral will be held today, July 31 at 11am at the Grenfell Lawn Cemetery.
