The decision comes after the Weddin Muster, Bribbaree Show, Eugowra Show, Forbes Show and Young Show all cancelled their events last week.
"The Grenfell PAH&I Association wish to advise the cancellation of the 144th Grenfell Show in the interest of public safety," Grenfell Show Society president Courtney Taylor said.
"At a meeting held on 20 July 2020 the committee unanimously voted to cancel the 2020 Grenfell Show which was scheduled to take place on 4 and 5 September 2020."
According to Courtney given the ongoing and evolving nature of the COVID-19 pandemic, the health and safety of the community, volunteers and participants is the Show Society's top priority.
"We need to comply with the NSW Government health orders as well as consider the potential financial implications for our Show Society, entrants and participants."
Courtney has thanked local volunteers, sponsors and supporters for their understanding while the committee tried to make its decision.
"Whilst this is disappointing news for our community, we maintain a positive outlook and will continue to pursue the aims and objectives of the Show Society," Courtney said.
"Thank you to our wonderful members, valued sponsors and volunteers for your patience and understanding."
Despite the setback with the 2020 Show the committee is eagerly looking forward to working on the 2021 Grenfell Show.
"We will look forward to a brighter 2021," Courtney said.
