The Grenfell Library may be closed for face-to-face contact until further notice however Librarian Erika Kearnes is encouraging book lovers to use the library's website to arrange home delivery within the Grenfell town boundary.
Ms Kearnes has put together a simple guide on how to borrow from the library.
To allow you to continue borrowing please follow the steps below
- Access library website http://grenfellpubliclibrary.org.au/
- Select catalogue
- Select Member Services
- Log In using User ID B0..... from your library membership card and your password which is your birthday (ddmmyy)
- Search catalogue
- Click on title
- Click on Reserve title
- Click on Proceed
- This item will then appear on a list for the library staff
At this stage the toy collection is not available.
Library Staff will notify you when your item(s) will be available for collection. At this point you will have an option of either collecting from the front of the Community Hub building or a house delivery.
For those outside the town limits you can ring the library for stock to be put aside and pick up from the front of the Community Hub building.
Collection will be available Tuesday to Friday between 10am and 5pm only.
A house delivery service will be offered only to those who live within the town limits, please see the above Click and collect/delivery service instructions.
If you do not have internet access, please contact the library on 6343 1334.
Delivery will entail you leaving your returns in a bag on your front step and the library staff member will swap over the bag for a new one with stock.
Ms Kearnes reminds members that as part of your membership you have free access to BorrowBox for eAudiobooks and eBooks.
This gives you a limit of four titles of each eAudio and eBooks at one time. You will need your membership number and date of birth (ddmmyy) to log into the free app. This is the same as logging into the library catalogue.
Story Box is free as part of your membership as well. Story Box Library provides a vibrant, interactive experience via a diverse range of everyday storytellers - actors, comedians, sports people, musicians, artists, authors, children - with varying accents and from different cultures, each sharing past and present book titles. The result is meaningful, entertaining readings that focus on both teller and tale. This is a streaming service so there are no limits to the number of titles you can listen to. You will be asked for your membership number only. No password required.
For school projects you have access to several online resources via the Grenfell Library website. These are all free of charge and can be used from home.
Family historians who would like access to inhouse resources please send an email to grenlib@grenfell.org.au and you will be provided access. This access will not be provided over the phone.
