Women's Bowls
Saturday we travelled to Cootamundra to play our final two games against Country Club. In the morning game Sharyn, Lyn, Judy and Rosemary had a win 23 to 21.
Julie Pat - our substitute, thank you very much - Sonia and Sue went down 13 to 36. All played well but no luck.
Cootamundra won four points to one.
The afternoon game was a reversal of teams with Rosemary's team winning 18 to 15 and Sue's team having another loss after a hard fought game 12 to 26. Coota again won four points to one.
This makes Cootamundra Country Club this years No. 4 Pennant winners for South Western District.
We still have to play Young No. 3 Pennant team twice more but have decided to forfeit this Saturday's game.
We will play the final game on the following Saturday, March 7, which will also be Presentation Day.
To all our players and substitute, Pat Reid, a very heartfelt thanks and congratulations for the effort you have put into support the District and represent your club.
To Barry and Warren for umpiring, Ray for scoring and Julie for giving up a day to be a substitute if needed.
Peter for the greens and the Club Ltd for the help and support.
Don't forget Super Singles on this Thursday night. Names in by 6pm for a 6:30pm start.
This is a great way to improve your drawing ability and a good evening out.
I would also like to remind everyone, the lists for the District Singles and Triples are on the board to be returned on April 2.
Don't feel you are not good enough. All of you are on your day. So think about it.
Lastly, if we can get the numbers, there will be a game of bowls on Saturday. Names in by 12.30pm, play 1pm.
All welcome.
