In the first round back after the Christmas break Grenfell batted first with Holmes anchoring the innings.
Holmes faced just 75 balls in his match winnings innings which included eight fours and five sixes, obviously aided by the short boundaries.
His opening partner Tyler Baron put on 32 before he was dismissed and in the middle order Riley Cartwright blasted 36 not out.
Mitch Amos, Tom Doolan, Pat Neville and Chris Doorey took a wicket each for Morongla with Amos and Doolan called on for the bulk of the bowling work, sending down eight overs apiece.
Losing their first wicket with the score on just two, Morongla found themselves on the backfoot early during their run chase, a position from which they never recovered.
At the end of 36 overs they found themselves well short, putting on just 125 for the loss of nine wickets.
Jaxon Greenaway did the damage with the ball for Grenfell, picking up three wickets from seven overs.
Bailey Edwards and Riley Cartwright chipped in with two wickets each.
Kye O'Byrne and Tyler Byron took the other two wickets to fall.
