80TH BIRTHDAY: Congratulations to former resident Alice Reynolds who celebrated her "OBE" 'Over Bloomin' 80' birthday with her family in Dalby QLD in early January. Alice's son Maurice travelled to Dalby for this very special occasion to join the family including Alice's daughters Patricia Reynolds and Lizette and her husband Pete and their children Jessica and Michael McDonald.

GREENETHORPE CATCH UP: Each year a group of Greenethorpe residents have a get together to celebrate the New Year. On the hot, windy, dusty Friday evening the group met at the Railway Hotel for dinner. Among those present were Kathy Garland and her husband Andrew and the five beautiful daughters, Willa, Ava, Olivia, Polly and Scarlett. The Garlands former Greenethorpe residents now hail from Wirrinya. Kathy will be remembered as the Editor of the Grenfell Record following Bill Rudd's retirement.
TWINS: Jacinta Graham (nee Eppelstun) visited Grenfell with her husband Brandon and her twin boys Sage and Beau from Bli Bli Queensland. Jacinta had a Grenfell family catch up with her aunt Joan Eppelstun and cousins Graham Eppelstun, Karen Burn, Cherie Horsfall, Jacinta Graham, Craig Eppelstun, Debbie Clarke, Cassie Griffin, Wendy Eppelstun, Lorette Walmsley and Neil Eppelstun. and partners at the Chinese Restaurant on Wednesday night.
While in Grenfell a photo was taken of the Eppelstun twins - Debbie Clarke and Wendy Eppelstun, Wendy's twins - Taylor and Harrison Keppie, Jacinta's twins - Sage and Beau Graham and Jon and Alicia White's (nee Eppelstun) twins - Cruz and Carter White. It was a good opportunity to take a photo of the 4 sets of twins.
TARA'S BITHDAY: Tara Anderson who turned 20 on Friday January10, celebrated with an early birthday dinner with her father Brett, Julie Fysh, Finlay McClean, Trent Dixon, and Brooke Brown at the Railway Hotel on Monday January 06.
This birthday dinner was also a Bon Voyage for Brett and Julie prior to their cruise to New Zealand. On her actual birthday she and friends enjoyed a day at Canberra Zoo. Tara said, "It's safe to say that turning 20 was an absolute hoot!"
THREE GENERATIONS: Carolyn and Warren Shaw were delighted when their daughter Emma, her partner Michael Hampton and their children Tate (2) and Isla 7.5 months surprized them on Friday evening. Carolyn and Warren were on their way for dinner when Emma, who lives in West Wyalong phoned, and as they were talking, Emma and family walked in on them at the Railway Hotel. A great evening was had by all.
CHRISTMAS: On Christmas Eve, Mass was celebrated in St Joseph's Church at 6pm, with many families with small children in attendance. The children participated in the service, by doing the readings and offertory procession. Parents were appreciative of the early time as it made life a little easier Christmas morning. Following Mass, the children enjoyed a visit with baby Jesus at the Nativity scene set up in front of the altar.
GRENFELL ART GALLERY: The new exhibition 'Delight in Diversity' by Grenfell Artists Incorporated opened on Tuesday January 14 and will be on display till February 27
Grenfell Artists Incorporated formally known as Grenfell Community Arts & Crafts has continually delighted the Grenfell community over a period of 30 years. This collection showcases a wide variety of artistic endeavours in various media ranging from pen and ink, pencil, graphite, pastel, watercolour, acrylics and oils. The Art Gallery is open Monday to Friday 10am - 4pm, Saturday 10am - 3pm & Sunday 10am -2pm.
AUSTRALIA DAY: Owing to rebuilding of the toilet block in Taylor Park, the Grenfell Australia Day celebrations will be held at the Grenfell Public School in the quadrangle/ Cola (Covered Outdoor Learning Area). The ceremony will be preceded by a damper or barbecue breakfast from around 8am. Other ceremonies will take place in the villages of Caragabal, Greenethorpe and Quandialla.
SWIMMING CLUB: The Grenfell Swimming will be hosting a fun filled pool party afternoon from 5pm on Australia Day. There will be fun competitions, the Lions Jumping Castle for the littlies and a barbecue will also be available. Everyone is welcome to come along and support the club.
