Local fire services responded to a call on the family's property near Grenfell a few weeks ago where they found a shed on fire.
According to Mary, Brent and Andrew Ray and their families it was only thanks to the fast actions of their neighbours and the local fire services that the fire didn't turn into "another NSW fire spreading throughout the district".
Fire services and locals managed to get the fire under control very quickly before the fire could spread to any other parts of the property causing any further damage to the farm.
"[We] and our families would like to thank all of our neighbours, the volunteer members of the local bush fire brigades, the Grenfell Fire Department as well as the various support vehicles that turned up to help us in our time of need during the recent fire event on our property in Grenfell," Mr Ray said.
According to Mr Ray if the locals hadn't have reacted as quickly and worked as hard as they had the incident could have been a lot worse.
"Everyone's speedy response and tireless efforts helped to contain the blaze to our shed preventing what could have been a terrible incident of another NSW fire spreading throughout the district," Mr Ray said.
"We thank you all whole heartedly."
As of Thursday there were over 100 fires burning across NSW.
