Brian and Graham win the Spring Comp on court

Round 12 finally got under way on Tuesday evening after postponing the round last week.

The Grenfell Tennis Club has completed its Spring Competition and will take a break until the Autumn.

Last Tuesday the men formed a working bee to spread sand on our new courts, thanks to all those who took part.

The round was completed with Grahame Edwards and Rick Power taking the honours with a score of 27 games followed by Andrew Bucknell and "Ringo" Walker on 24 games.

Ringo was filling in for Mark Liebech, then came Graham Watt and Pat Hazell on 21.

Three pairs finished on 16 games they were Rod Freudenstein and Brian Protheroe, Stuart McKellar and Arnold Brown, Damien Briggs and John Walmsley.

Watt and Protheroe are the winners of our Spring competition.

Graham Watt won the 'A' grade with a total of 279 games just ahead of Andrew Bucknell on 273.

Brian was a convincing winner for 'B' grade with a great overall score of 317 games, ahead of Mark Liebech with 285, congratulations boys.

A special thank you to all players who took part especially all our fill ins.

This was our final competition for this year.

We will now have a break and resume early February to commence our Autumn competition.
