On Tuesday Western Plains Regional Development and Weddin Shire Suicide Prevention Project showed their gratitude to the Henry Lawson High School students who worked on the RU OK bench project by taking them out to lunch to say thank you.
"Once again I can't thank the students enough for their hard work and learning the importance of starting the conversation and sharing that knowledge with their, peers, friends, family and the younger generation," Weddin Suicide Prevention Project officer Chad White said.
"The Weddin shire community is blessed to have such up standing youth role models.
"Thank you again to all involved with the project.
"But the big thank you goes to our youth," Chad said.
The students along with Chad finished presenting local schools with the benches last week.
Mental Health Month
The Weddin Suicide Prevention Project and Western Plains Regional Development are very happy with the response Weddin locals gave to their Safety Net project for Mental Health Month in October.
Locals were able to write messages of hope and support and attach it to the net with over 100 people from the community joining in.
"Having the support of others is so important," Chad said.
Throughout the month of October the Safety Net was on display throughout town with many locals showing their support and appreciation for the project.
