A man has been charged over possession of child abuse material in in the state's South West Slopes. About 1.40pm on Monday November 4 officers attached to The Hume Police District attended a residential address in Koorawatha. Officers located and seized a mobile phone that was in the possession of a 33-year-old man. Child abuse material was allegedly located following an examination. A search warrant was executed at the premises shortly after, with officers seizing a computer, mobile phones and several electronic storage devices. The 33-year-old man was taken to Young Police Station, where he was later charged with possess child abuse material. He was refused bail and is due to re-appear at Young Local Court on December 3, 2019.

On October 27 detectives were patrolling Boorowa St, Young when they saw a vehicle which was allegedly unregistered. Police stopped the car and allege the 45-year-old male driver's licence was suspended. Police breath tested the man and he returned a positive reading. He was arrested and taken to Young Police Station and returned a result of 0.108g of alcohol in 210L of breath. The man will appear in court on 19 November.
