With the new courts to be laid next at the end of the month, the Tuesday Men were generous enough to donate two of their comp nights towards a couple of working bees to remove the old carpet.
But the work boots were substituted back to joggers last week, when the Men took back to the courts.
At the end of the night, Andrew Bucknell and David Mitton who was substituting for Brian Protheroe, were far too strong winning the night with 36 games.
Runners up on the night were Graham Watt and John Walmsley.
The boys battled away consistently to take home 20 games.
Closely on their heels, finishing on 18 games were the pairings of Grahame Edwards and Arnold Brown and Mark Liebech and Leigh Taylor, who was filling in for Stuart McKellar.
The remaining pairs were Rod Freudenstein and Steven Brown, who represented Pat Hazell with 16 games and Damien Briggs and Harrison Starr with 13 games.
Harrison had stepped in for Rick Power.
On Tuesday night the gents fronted again for Round 8, with a close nights tennis being had.
At the completion of play, the victors for the evening being Stuart McKellar and Brian Protheroe.
The boys played consistent tennis to finish with 30 games.
Two pairings amassed 24 games on the night to share the title of runners up.
Damien Briggs paired with Arnold Brown, whilst Grahame Edwards and Steven "Ringo" Walker joined forces to get the job done.
"Ringo" was filling in for Mayor Mark.
Only one game behind on 23 games was Andrew Bucknell and Pat Hazell.
Graham Watt teamed this week with Harrison Starr, who again stepped in for Rick Power.
The boys found the going pretty tough to collect 13 games, whilst former neighbours John Walmsley and Rod Freudenstein, couldn't take a trick, finishing on a total of six games.
Next week sees the playing of Round 9, which another good nights tennis assured.

Grenfell Amateur Swimming Club
The first night of the 2019/20 season was completed last Friday.
It was great to see so many competitors eager to get back in the pool for another season.
A big welcome to all of our new swimmers too!
Online entries - Please keep checking your emails as details on how to enter for each Club night will be sent out shortly.
We are hoping to have online entries up and running next week and we will send out "How to .." information via email.
In readiness for online entries we would like to ask all members/swimmers to check that their calendar displays events (these will show up as dots on the calendar - if you look at 30 Nov/01 Dec you should be able to find Parkes carnival).
Parents, please make sure that you check for each of your children.
This is how you will access online entries for club nights and other carnivals - we think!
Please let me know if you think you have a problem with this.
We remind swimmers and parents that you can only enter in the distance that the referees have approved each swimmer for.
If the competitor is entered in the wrong distance they will be moved back to the correct distance.
This decision was made by the Committee last year, in consultation with the referees, with the view of further developing the junior swimmers stroke technique before they progress to a longer distance.
As with last year your child must begin in the 15m and cannot progress to the 25m or 50m distances in any stroke unless they are advised by the referees of their progression.
Fundraising opportunity - We have been approached by the Tennis Club who are prepared to give the Swimming Club $1000 if we can arrange for 20-30 people to help spread sand at the Tennis Club towards the end of November 2019. More details to come.
Registrations - If anyone is having trouble with registrations please contact Nicola Mitton or Laraine Bland.
We remind all swimmers that they must be registered before they can swim.
Uniforms - For anyone wanting to order a uniform please contact Leann at the Aquatic Centre.
Squad training - Squad training has commenced and is held Monday - Thursday from 4pm to 5pm.
Please contact Leann at the Aquatic Centre for all squad related enquiries.
Timekeeping roster - The timekeeping roster for the season will be circulated shortly.
All families are expected to assist with timekeeping during the season.
Seven people are rostered on each week, six time keep with the seventh person selling raffle tickets.
If you are unable to help on your allocated night it is your responsibility to organise a replacement.
Timekeepers for this week - Friday November 1 are Berry, Griffin (Delilah), McClelland, Noble, Hucker, O'Byrne and Fenton.

Grenfell Women's Bowling Club
Well..that's week three of Summer League done and dusted and what a fabulous day it was.
Almost perfect weather conditions, friendly competitors and another win!
How else would you want to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon?
The Grenfell Golden Girls (our moniker for this particular competition), outdid themselves again yesterday, with a convincing win over the Harden Hunnies.
All six girls were in fine form, both with their bowling and their antics, making for an afternoon of fun and frivolity. Congratulations Sandy Paine, Kathy Betcher and Rosemary Walter on a convincing win and good luck for Round 4, next Sunday.
Unfortunately, due to illness, the Club Triples Championships were won on a forfeit.
This moves Suzanne Gault, Judy McAlister and Pat Reid straight into the finals. This date is yet to be confirmed, but I will keep you posted.
Finally, our next monthly meeting will be held on Friday November 8 at 5.30pm.
Our main topics of discussion will be Pennant preparations, our Christmas party and Presentation night, but the floor is always open for general discussion about anything that members would like to discuss.
The more members who participate, the smoother our friendly little club will run, so please try and attend and maybe stay for dinner afterwards.
Dates to remember:
Our mixed ladies days will remain on Saturdays at 1pm, until the warmer weather settles in.
Our Skills, Drills, Coaching and Training days have been postponed until further notice as a new day and time is being considered. We will update you once this has been arranged.
Monthly meeting Friday November 8 at 5pm
Summer League continues for the next four weeks.
Last but not least, best wishes to our birthday girl of the week Tracey Hunter.
