The organisation has been operating for the past 6 years and this meet attracted some 50 participants.
It is a family orientated organisation and is Australian centred and not affiliated with the USA with all funds raised remaining in Australia.
50 percent of the fees are returned in prizes for the various competitions.
It was originally call the Weddin Mountains Performance Horse Club.
When originally formed some 80 percent of the competitors came from Sydney but there has been a gradual change and now 90 percent are from the country.
The meet was very fortunate to have international competitors Robyn Bowman and Steph Woolbridge instructing.
Cow Sports incorporates all disciplines relating to cattle in the yards and conducts clinics which specialise in instruction for participants, initially on foot, cutting a selected beast from the mob in the yard and drafting it into another yard.
They then progress to carrying out the same exercise on their horses.
Mark said doing the exercise on foot gives the participant a much greater understanding of the cattle and how they move about in the yards.
The picturesque setting among the gum trees provided a delightful area for the owners of the caravans, horse floats and tents to settle in for the weekend.
There is a super area with a delightful rustic shed with tables and chairs located close to the action for patrons to watch the action whilst enjoying refreshments.
Grenfell Commodities has been and is a major sponsor of Cow Sports Grenfell.
