FATHER'S DAY: I hope all fathers enjoyed their special day on Sunday. Many families returned to Grenfell to celebrate, including Patricia Grant from Sydney and her sisters Carmel and Felicity from Wagga to visit their father, ninety-nine-year-old, Jack Grant.

On Saturday evening Patricia, Carmel and John and Sharon Grant treated Jack to dinner at the Railway Hotel and to a special breakfast at Unwind on Sunday morning, following Mass.
Sandy, Jaime and Adam Harris were also home from Canberra to celebrate with their father and grandfather Pat O'Meally. Sandy, originally from Caragabal enjoys coming home to visit her parents Barbara and Pat. Their family too enjoyed breakfast at Unwind on Sunday morning.
THE EAGLE HAS LANDED: Congratulations to The Grenfell Garden Club and Artist/Sculptor Kathleen McCue on her outstanding creation Eagle-hawk which was launched/unveiled on Tuesday September 03.
This sculpture is situated on the corner of O'Brien/Warraderry Streets near the Local Land Services Office. Garden Club and community members were in attendance for the official launch.
GRENFELL SHOW: Another very successful show was held last weekend. Congratulations to all involved. On Friday, September 4, Australians were urged to wear their favourite sporting jersey to work or school for 'Jersey Day' to help raise awareness for organ donation after Hills District youngster Nathan Gremmo, who tragically lost his life earlier this year, saved six other lives.
Steph Cooke MP, wearing her favourite footy jersey was in Grenfell on Friday afternoon checking out the magnificent exhibits in both the Simpson and grandstand pavilions. Steph and Grenfell Show President Courtney Taylor did not mind having a photograph taken whilst inspecting the exhibits.
FAMILY FUN: Margaret and Noel Gundry and their daughters Hannah and Reagan welcomed a visit from Margaret's parents Joe and Tessie Grima from the Ponds, together with Margaret's cousin Miriam Prentice from Ryde, her aunty Frances and her daughters Debbie who was visiting from America and Sylvana from Arcadia as well as another aunty Carmen and her two daughters Joanne and Michelle.
Miriam organised the weekend for a catch up when she heard Debbie was visiting from America as was going to be in Grenfell. The family also wanted to check out the pub.
The family enjoyed two fun filled days sightseeing, participating in the Lions Friday night meat raffles and dining at the Railway Hotel.
DRAMATIC SOCIETY: The official launch of the Grenfell Dramatic Society's "Our Wardrobe - bringing characters to life over 60 years" will take place on Wednesday, September 11 at the Grenfell Art Gallery from 6pm to 7 pm.
If you wish to attend the opening please RSVP by 2pm, Wednesday, September 11 by phoning 6343 2059.
Kelly Luthje and her team have been very busy coordinating the costumes for this, which will be an outstanding display. Members of the society have been busy rehearsing for the Radio Plays which will be run in conjunction with the display.
Following the exhibition opening the Grenfell Dramatic Society will be holding a Radio Play, entry fee is $10. - Bookings at CJ Andersons. The Art Gallery is open Monday to Friday 10am - 4pm, Saturday 10am - 3pm and Sunday 10am -2pm.
