We did however, share the most wonderful experience.
What was once just a team of lady bowlers has quickly become a close cohort of friends/family.
What a massive few days!
Our humble accommodation was everything we needed and if we are fortunate enough to make it through again next year, have already decided we will re-book the same cabins.
No five star accommodation needed for these country girls!
The weather was perfect, hovering around the mid to low twenties for the three days of play, but we just couldn't master the super fast greens and swirling breezes.
What felt like a gentle roll as it left the hand, quite often ended up with the bowl in the ditch.
No excuses though.
We knew it was going to be a tough gig and we will train even harder for next year.
One thing we did achieve, was to put Grenfell on the map.
Our new uniforms were quite often the catalyst to conversations about our location, with promises of visits when passing through in the future.
Old friends were reunited and many new friends were made.
Of course, none of this would have been achievable without the moral and financial assistance offered by our club and the community.
Once again our heartfelt thanks to those of you who helped us train, purchased our tickets or helped in any other way, that made it possible for us to enjoy this amazing experience
