Goannas clean up before the semi-finals

It may have been a cold day but the Goannas certainly soaked it up with the First Grade and League Tag sides winning both their matches at home against Condobolin.

The first grade side brought home a very definitive win beating the Condobolin Rams 120-0.

The Girlannas had a closer match up but were just as strong to come out well ahead 28-16.

This weekend all three sides will be playing in the Woodbridge Cup semi-finals elimination round.

The first grade side will be playing on Saturday at Tom Clyburn Oval from 3pm against the Canowindra Tigers.

Meanwhile the Girlannas and Youth League sides will be playing at Manildra on Sunday with Youth League taking on Trundle from 11.20am and the Girlannas playing Manildra Rhinos from, 12.40pm.

Elsewhere across the grounds in First Grade the Manildra Rhinos defeated the Molong Bulls 22-14, Canowindra had a convincing win against Eugowra 82-2 and Trundle managed to keep Cargo off the board winning 70-0. Peak Hill had the bye for round 18.

In the League Tag competition Manildra Rhinos beat Molong Bulls 32-6, Canowindra Tigers locked out Eugowra winning 66-0, the Blue Heelers were the only one with points on the scoreboard taking out Trundle 46-0 at Cargo while Peak Hill had the bye.

Grenfell had the bye for the Youth League competition but Manildra Rhinos defeated Molong 14-6 and Cargo went down to Trundle 14-18.

Trundle are sitting at the top of the first grade ladder on 34 points, followed by Manildra, Molong, Canowindra and Grenfell sitting on 22 points to finish off the season.

In league tag the Girlannas are sitting second on the board just two points behind Cargo who finished off the normal season on 33 points leaving the girls in a fantastic position heading into the elimination finals this weekend.

The result was similar for the Youth League competition with Grenfell coming in second just three points behind Manildra on the ladder.

We wish all three sides the best of luck this weekend heading into the semi-finals.
