The Grenfell Lions Club 41st annual changeover was held at the Grenfell Country Club on Saturday with Lion Terry Carroll inducted as President for the year 2019 -2020.

Lion Terry Carroll did the Acknowledgement to Country before welcoming the guests - Lions 201N4 District Governor Peter and Lion Elaine Bright from Forbes, 1st Vice District Governor Stuart Freudenstein and Lion Lynne from Young, Mayor of Weddin Shire Mark Liebich, members from Boorowa, Cowra, Canowindra, Forbes, Young and West Wyalong Lions Clubs as well as local visitors and representatives from the Probus Club.
Apologies were received from the Deputy Prime Minister the Hon Michael McCormack and his with Kathryn, Steph Cook member for Cootamundra and her husband Keith Duran, The Henry Lawson High School Leo Club and Lions Festival Charity Queen Tara Anderson. Mayor Mark Leibich responded on behalf of all visitors. 1st Vice District Governor Lion Stuart Freudenstein proposed the toast to Lions International to which the District Governor Peter Bright suitably responded. President Chris Moran delivered an abbreviated club report.
Appreciation certificates were presented to members and partners who assisted the club over the year. Lion Peter Butcher received the Lion of the Year Award for his outstanding support of the club over the past twelve months.
Office bearers inducted who will serve on the board for the next twelve months are: President Terry Carroll, Immediate Past President Christopher Moran, 1st Vice President Rodney O'Neill, 2nd Vice President Barry Franklin, Secretary Keith Engelsman, Treasurer Allan Stokes, Tail Twister Deidre Carroll, Lion Tamer Rodney O'Neill, One Year Directors Peter Butcher and John Skelton, Two Year Directors Kathryn Williams and Barry Franklin, Publicity Officer/ Bulletin Editor Deidre Carroll, Membership Committee: Terry Carroll, Christopher Moran, Keith Engelsman and Allan Stokes, Safety Officers Barry Franklin and Christopher Moran.
President Lion Terry thanked his fellow Lions for entrusting him with leading their Club for the next 12 months and encouraged every member to 'just ask' any prospective new member.
"Membership of course is the age old problem - how do we attract new and younger members to share the burden? Lions International, District and locally are working on this world-wide problem, which incidentally is not confined to Lions," he said.
District Governor Lion Peter Bright thanked the Grenfell Lions Club for their invitation - he acknowledged that this was his first 'Official' function since being inducted as DG. He congratulated the club on their outstanding service hours of 3920 hours and contributions of $33272.76 to the community and Lions International charities.
To finalise the evening President Christopher Moran presented GD Peter Bright with an Appreciation Certificate and gift. Tina Davis of Canowindra Lions Club was the winner of the raffle whilst Suzanne Connell won the lucky door prize.
