No holiday for Henry Lawson High School sporting stars

Several students from Henry Lawson High School will be competing both in Australia and overseas these school holidays in a number of sporting events.

Angus and George fly to Fiji

Angus Kelly and George Mitton will be having their passports stamped as they travel to Fiji as part of the Temora Junior Rugby Union tour.

Angus and George will be playing three games of Rugby against local Fijian teams including playing the curtain raiser before the Yasawa and Ovalau teams play the Bainimarama Shield final.

This game is at the invitation of Fijian Rugby Union and a great honour for the team.

The Temora team will visit villages and local schools, being part of local ceremonies.

When visiting these schools and villages, the boys will be distributing the sky blue fleecy pullovers and sky blue polo shirts that were part of our old school uniform.

Our thanks to Temora Junior Rugby Union and our Parents and Citizens for supporting us with this donation.

Southern State Championships

When George Mitton returns from his trip to Fiji he will join the rest of his team mates in the Under 16s Southern Inland Rugby Union representative team to battle it out for the Southern States Championships.

Together with Rhys Hughes and Oscar Schaefer in the Under 14s Southern Inland Rugby Union representative team the boys will travel to Canberra to play in the Southern States Championships on July 17 and 18.

The Southern Inland sides will face off against the South Coast and Monaro, Central West NSW, Tasmania, South Australia and the Northern Territory.

This is the first year the tournament has been organised and it will continue to evolve to support the objectives of Member Unions and Rugby Australia.

ANU North Oval will provide the setting for the tournament which has been inaugurated this season and will see teams in the U12, U14, U16 and U18 divisions meeting each other across two-days of competition.
