Apparently you have to have a referee if you want to play, who would have thought.
Not much to write here, it's hard to see what's happening all that way up the other end of the field.
I'm sure our boys and girls did some great attacking, but I'm going to talk about how great the backs and the goal keeper were.
Every time Parkes attacked, they were denied.
A great jumping save and a great goal line save in the bottom corner, so hard defensive by Andy, just ask the Parkes player.
Brett was solid and always in the right place and a great job from a junior playing centre back, Murray with his everlasting speed was stopping them down his side and Mitch helped out too.
At half time it was 0-0.
The second half began and continued much the same as the first half.
Both teams kept to nil all and then tragedy struck.
As the goalie jumped to catch a ball, somehow he kicked up a knock to the nose, which resulted in a cut and bleeding nose.
It's a bit gross, but made a good war wound.
As Dean headed off for first aid, the ice pack was rejected, reason being, it was on Tim's foot last week.
Tissues were soon found and thankfully Howard was there to apply the band aid.
The game carried on and some good saves by George, 20 minutes work and all the credit, at the end kept the final score to 0 - 0.
Man of the match was Brett Knight, that's right, you heard correctly, beating Andy by 1 point.
Although on a side note it was heard and I quote that Andy was told "He was the best sweeper to come out of Grenfell in a long time" Well didn't we hear about that after the game.
And to conclude, and most important of all, I would like to thank our sponsors the Royal Hotel and the Grenfell Meat Barn. Without these awesome businesses there would be no soccer.
Maybe Andy should share his credit with our fantastic sponsors?
