The May meeting of the Grenfell branch of the Red Cross opened with a special badge presentation to new member Bernadette Dykhoff.

After the official opening, welcome to members and the pledge, president Wendy Anderson thanked all members for manning the street stall and their contribution of saleable produce.
The stall was a pleasing success raising $915.
The members would like to thank the community for supporting our stall.
Our raffle winner was Peter Butcher.
It was officially moved that $750 be sent to Red Cross headquarters where it will be welcomed and used for ever demanding humanitarian needs.
Our branch members expressed thanks to the staff of IGA who always allow the use of their storeroom and to the young staff who willingly help set up tables etc.
Support will be given to the Lawson Festival with the branch decorating a window.
Members volunteered for meals on wheels on June 3 and 9.
Sympathy and care was expressed to our patron, Mrs Lola Madden who is presently in respite care.
Arrangements are underway for our annual general meeting on July 26 in the Grenfell Hub.
Suggestions were received for a guest speaker and a change of executive.
Our branch offers an invitation to the community to join us at our meeting.
Upcoming events were discussed:
- Catering for Open Gardens weekend.
- MPS Birthday party.
- Melbourne Cup luncheon and;
- Our summer street stall.
Our branch meets every fourth Friday of the month in the Senior Citizens Rooms in Melyra Street at 2pm and new members are always welcome.
