Claire McCann MC for the evening welcomed all and thanked the art judge Brian Langer who is a Cowra Regional Art Gallery Director, Art co-ordinators Di Griffiths and Hugh Moffitt, volunteers who assisted prior to, during and after the festival and the valuable sponsors who make this competition possible.
Results for the competition
Section 1: Open Traditional (Weddin Shire Council -Acquisitive) Winner "Over Gulgong" by Peter Lawson.
Highly Commended "View from Pettit's Hill Cootamundra" - Ron Kirkland and "The Spirit of the Bush"- Eugenia Dunlevie and Commended "Saltwater Crocodile" - Dallas Nyberg.
Section 2: Open Watercolour (Rotary) Winner "Crossing the River" by Noelene Millar.
Commended "Silver Scrub - Sandra Hendry.
Section 3: Open Contemporary (Lachlan Fertilizer Rural) Winner "Dogwood on Lace" by Paul McKnight.
Highly Commended "Crossing the Turon" - Barbara Holmes.
Commended "Cormorant - Katherine Lewis.
Section 4: Open Pastel (Lions) Winner "Grenfell Backstreet" - Eric Strachan.
Highly Commended "Narrow Neck Road Katoomba" -Eric Strachan.
Section 5: Open Miniature Painting (Roma Sinclair and Carol Hargrave) Winner "Canning Reservoir Orchid WA" by Judith Spedding.
Highly Commended: "Simple Pleasures" Madeleine Szymanski;
Section 6: Local Artist (1st Bryton Wool, 2nd Grenfell Community Arts and Craft Group) Winner "Autumn" - Neva Napier, 2nd "The Avenue" Patricia Brus.
Section 7: Open Drawing (Art of Expresso, Joan Bolton OAM, Trevor & Chris Lobb, Glenn and Liz Carroll, Judy Mitton, Peter & Judy Spedding) Winner "Study of and Elephant - Sue Campbell.
Commended "Tribute to Stout" - Jacky Burns and "Brown Treecreeper Woodland" - Katherine Lewis.
Paul McKnight from Grenfell was announced as the winner of the Statuette, which was presented to him at the Awards Dinner on Saturday evening.
