Well, hello cold snap!
One minute we are seeking shade and mist sprays on the green and the next thing, we are huddled in our woolies and long johns, trying to convince our frozen fingers not to drop a heavy lawn bowl on our ice cold toes!
Join bowls they said...it'll be fun they said! And it is!!!
What other sport are you able to:
- play without a uniform;
- only attend when you feel like it (and not have your absence affect the team);
- enjoy a beverage during the game;
- be able to hold a conversation whilst playing;
- exercise without realising that you actually are and socialise with people whose friendships are more than likely going to develop outside of the game?
We also have two lovely, talented coaches who would like nothing more than to show you the ins and outs of this challenging game.
Simply call the Club on 63431656 to organise your free tutoring with either Kathy or Martin.
Our ladies days are on Saturday's at 11am, roll ups on Thursday's at 10am and circuit training on Tuesday's at 1.30pm.
If you are so inclined, you will also be offered the chance to travel, with many tournaments and championships being contested out of the area.
Coming up
Tuesday and Wednesday of this week will see four of our ladies heading off to Harden to compete in the Regional Senior Fours Play-offs.
Hopefully next week's edition will show a photo of a very happy team who will be heading off to the State Play-Offs in September!
Good luck Sandy Paine, Alison Cutcliffe, Kathryn Betcher and Rosemary Walter.
The Regional Open Pairs Play-Offs are also being played this month with Kathy and Rosemary travelling to Wagga on 25th & 26th June.
Once again, good luck ladies!
In the meantime, stay warm and enjoy our Henry Lawson Festival weekend, with special wishes being extended to Courtney Hunter who is also celebrating her birthday this weekend.
