We had a big turn out of 13 riders, our biggest rally in a few years.
We separated the children into three groups and took them around a circuit of activities.
The led and assisted children practiced some steering, stopping and up downs before moving onto some fun sporting activities.
Sporting is not only fun, but it teaches children how to stop, steer, go etc. without realising they are learning.
The older children focused on their showjumping, flat work and dressage in preparation of Harden one day event and the area 5 Jamboree.
They also had a great time letting loose in the sporting.
Thank you to all the parents who assisted and made the day go smoothly.
Our rider of the month was awarded to Hayden Mellon, Hayden is a beginner but very willing to learn and take on what the instructor tells him.
Hayden was riding a big horse that he was not use too for the first time and did a fantastic job, improving quite well throughout the day.
On Sunday April 28, four Grenfell pony club members attended the Harden One day event.
Events consisted of three phases, Dressage, Showjumping and Cross Country.
Emma, Henry, Kate and Phoebe Clifton all had a great day at harden.
It was Emma's first official cross country try, she was having a great run but her pony did decide that she rather not get wet in the water jump.
Good job Emma, riding a ODE at 9 years old is quite impressive!
Congratulations to Henry who managed to bring home 1st place in the E grade and Phoebe who came in 4th in the D grade.
Kate came in 12th in grade, whilst she'd put in a great dressage test, it was her horses first cross country run, they had a steady clear run which is a great achievement for a horses first time around cross country.
Pony clubs next rally is this Sunday May 19.
Gear check at 10am
We will be having cake to celebrate Pony club Australia's 80th birthday!
