Her parents Margo and Greg, her sister Hannah and her boyfriend Mat Cashen as well as Peter and Mary Moffitt were in attendance for Elly's special day. Elly has been working with Judge Hoy of the District Court at the Downing Centre in Sydney.

Elly said "I am just a country kid with big dreams, and University Of Wollongong was the only place willing to take a chance on me.

5 years later, I've graduated with distinction, work with one of the best Judges in the District Court, and get admitted to the legal profession.. Can't get much better than this". Congratulations Elly.

BLUE TREE PROJECT: The Blue Tree Project which began in WA encourages people to paint a dead tree, giving a new "Blue lease of life" in memory of a loved one who lost their battle to depression or battled with a mental illness.

People all over Australia are painting their dead trees blue, spreading the message that "it's ok to have a blue day". It is also a timely reminder for us all to check in with our friends and family and ask the question RUOK?

A local group having lost a close friend - Tom Logan a little while back, agreed that it was a fantastic way to honour him and to also send a message across the shire.

The "Blue Tree" which was painted on Brendan and Krystle Hewen's property can be seen travelling down Murray's Lane towards the Young Road. The friends are thrilled with the result and hope that their fellow community members admire it as much as they do.

A big thank you goes out to Oliver's Hardware for donating the blue paint and to Rob Ricketts for the use of his cherry picker. Tom's friends had a fantastic day painting the tree with plenty of hands on deck to ensure the job was completed and they had a great time catching up.

GEORGE WELCOMES TWINS: George Small has received the wonderful news of the safe arrival of his Twin Great Grandchildren. Charlie George and William Roger were born at Kareena Private Hospital Sydney on Friday April 26 2019 to proud parents Lia and Shaun Moody. The twins are the first grandchildren for Leanndra and Gary Nixon of Yarrawarrah, Suzanne and Roger Sparks of Engadine and Garry and Tanya Moody of Hurstville.

George said his great grandchildren had broken the mould, as he was an only child, his daughter Leanndra and granddaughter Lia were only children and the arrival of twins Charlie and William was great news. Congratulations to all.

4TH BIRTHDAY: Adam Ali celebrated his 4th birthday with a party on Saturday May 11. Adam and his friends had a lovely time on the jumping castle. Thank you to all who came and made it such a special day.

BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS: Symmone Curl was treated to an evening out to dinner to celebrate her twenty something birthday on May 8. Symmone's sister Byanca and her good friends Freuin Forsyth and Katie Blair as well as work colleagues Maddie Prestridge and Nicole Loonee joined her for dinner at the Railway Hotel.
