World renowned street artist Heesco Khosnaran has begun to change that with hundreds of litres of paint, transforming these disused silos into rural art galleries and major tourist attractions.
Peter and Shirley Mawhinney, owners of Grenfell Commodities, along with Glenn Beasley and Trevor Mawhinney, are thrilled to announce that they have enlisted the services of the talented Mongolian artist to transform their old Grenfell silos into a brilliant work of art with the major project commencing this week.
Born in Mongolia in 1979 Heesco is a celebrated muralist and fine artist recognised for his stylistically diverse and prolific work on the streets, and more recently on silos and other large canvasses, his experimental, emotive and genre defying artwork crosses effortlessly between fine art, street art, comics and illustration.
With a lengthy resume spanning a decade of gallery exhibitions, private and public commissions, Heesco is a highly skilled craftsman with a unique concept driven vision all of his own.
Mr Mawhinney says he is delighted that Heesco has arrived in town and begun the transformation, he said it has been a long time coming, but to have Heesco on the job was well worth the wait.
"This is going to be a wonderful new attraction for our shire that will be able to be admired by thousands of people for many years to come," said Mr Mawhinney
"I would really like to thank everyone who has helped to make this possible, and of course Heesco for taking on the project, we hope as many residents as possible can come along to meet him next Friday night at the Grenfell Country Club where we will host a dinner in his honour," he added.
The theme for the artwork is being kept under wraps for the time being with the completion of the project due in around three weeks. An official unveiling will take place shortly after.
