Grenfell will honour its top citizens and community groups at the annual Australia Day ceremony which will be held in Taylor Park on Saturday January 26.

A packed program has been created for members of the community to enjoy with the highlight being the announcement of individuals and groups that have made outstanding community contributions throughout 2018.
The event will kick off at 8am in Taylor Park with the Grenfell Lion’s Club BBQ breakfast. Damper will provided by the CWA with live entertainment by the Grenfell Town and District Band.
At 9am the official ceremony will commence featuring the national anthem, flag raising, presentation of awards, bush poetry, musical entertainment and a presentation by our ambassador Zoe Naylor. The ceremony is scheduled to be finalised by 10.30am.
At 3pm there will be an Australia Day Golf Fun Day, at the Grenfell Country Club, Gooloogong Road which will be a 9 hole, 3 person Ambrose. A Sausage sizzle will be included and prizes will be up for grabs throughout the day. Live entertainment will commence from 8pm with "Voodoo Shuffle” set to bring the house down. Weddin Shire villages will also celebrate Australia Day with ceremonies as follows:
Quandialla/Bimbi: The annual Yabbie competition will be held at the Bland Hotel from 6pm. The pool will be open from 3.30pm – 8.30pm with free entry and fun novelty events. Community Gathering on the lawn at the Bland Hotel from 7pm where awards will be presented.
Greenethorpe: The annual cricket match against the Northern Tillers and the Southern Silo Busters will begin at 8.30am. Following the game at around 12 noon there will be a free BBQ at the hall and the announcement of the Christmas lights competition winner. Contact Jill Allen on 02 6342 6208 for further details.
Caragabal: 7am - Breakfast held at the park in Caragabal. Ending the day with an evening at the pub for dinner.
