Committee member Michelle Rohan would like to express her gratitude to the many individuals, businesses and organisations that have provided continued support to the local branch.
“On behalf of the Grenfell Can Assist committee I would like to thank all those who made donations, purchased tickets and who joined us during our recent fundraising efforts,” said Ms Rohan.
“This year we had barefoot bowls at the Grenfell Bowling Club followed by a Melbourne Cup Calcutta which was very well supported raising $1535.
“The Yellow Day at the Criterion was also another great day. We held a 100 club and raffles, so along with donations $2550 was raised on the day.
“This brought the total raised to $4085 and we can’t thank the community enough for supporting this great cause.” she added.
“I would also like to thank Ali Anderson for all her organising as well as Rob, Andrew and John for their assistance, without your continued support we would not be able to help families in need.”
The committee also wish to thank staff at the Bowling Club and the Criterion Hotel for contributing to the success of the fundraising events. The Best Dressed on Yellow Day went to Carly Brown. Carly thanked the Grenfell branch of Can Assist for hosting this special annual event, now in its tenth year, and for the opportunity to take time out to remember her beautiful friend Sonia, with whom Yellow Day is dedicated to.
A very happy Michelle Rohan won the 100 club while Best Dressed Baby went to Dommie, of course. Finally the committee would like to remind residents that they are here to help. For more information please contact Ali Anderson on 02 6343 1610 or Michelle Rohan via the Criterion.
