Local man’s actions are a concern for magistrate

A 41 y.o. Grenfell man has been fined $300 and convicted of assault after failing to appear at Young Local Court last Wednesday. Jeremy Heathcote had earlier entered a guilty plea and the matter was dealt with in his absence by Magistrate Michael O’Brien. Facts reveal he punched a man at a property on Gooloogong Rd on September 3. The victim received cuts to his lips. Heathcote was later arrested in Grenfell and charged with assault. “He has no priors but it’s certainly a matter of concern,” Mr O’Brien noted.
