There will be a delicious lunch, sweeps, Lucky Door and another wonderful fashion parade from Louisa's Locker. All are welcome. It would be appreciated (for catering numbers) if guests could obtain tickets from one of the following businesses in town - Tammy's Hair Salon, Loxley Hair Salon, C.J. Anderson or Louisa's Locker. There are flyers around the town to remind us all, and a great day is promised.
The Garden Club Open Gardens was another topic for discussion as Red Cross was asked to cater for morning and afternoon teas and lunch on the two days, October 13 and 14. This was a great success with the venue being Bernadette Dykhoff's lovely home and garden - it looked beautiful with red checked tablecloths, white chairs and delicious fare under the roofed pergola in the garden. Many thanks to Bernadette who worked tirelessly to assist Red Cross, as well as presenting her garden.
Another topic was the Christmas parcel, these are sent to any local person in the Armed Forces who is away on duty at Christmas time, the parcels are a great surprise and joy to the recipients so far away from home. So if anyone knows of any service personnel away this Christmas, please let us know.
The meeting then decided to send $500 to the Red Cross "Let'sTalk" Appeal for Farming in Dubbo.
The next meeting is on Friday, October 26 in the Melyra Street Senior Citizens meeting room at 2 pm. All welcome.
