There will be a thank you barbecue on Saturday, November 17 for our volunteers and your invitations will be mailed out shortly.
“Thanks also to everyone who came to the Show, particularly on Friday when the weather was less than perfect,” Lisa Eastaway said.
The Show society is not resting on its laurels as it searches for ways to improve the 2019 event, especially in light of criticism there was not enough at this year’s event for younger children to enjoy with a smaller sideshow alley present.
“We conducted a survey on Facebook after the Show to get some feedback on what went well and what needed improvement,” Ms Eastaway said.
“Two of the major issues were the lack of things for the younger children and the amusements in side show alley.
“The Show Society has already started planning for events and attractions for the younger children for 2019.
“Unfortunately, we have no control over what side show rides and attractions come to the show as they are determined by the Showman’s Guild.
“We have spoken to our local rep on the Guild and hopefully we will have better rides and show bags next year,” Ms Eastaway said.
The next meeting of the Grenfell Show Society will be held on Monday, October 15 at 8pm at the Camp St office.
All are welcome to attend.
