An entertaining afternoon
Sisters Elaine Pereira and Gwen Clark led the singing of a Probus Welcome Song, assisted by Alan Vorias from the Cowra Mens Club and the entertainer for the day, Ernie Burgess, from Cowra.
Elaine Pereira, standing in for Foundation member, Kathleen Smith, OAM, who was recovering from illness, said Grace, written specially by Kath, prior to the serving of the meal.
All present were delightfully entertained by Ernie Burgess throughout the afternoon with songs suitable for our age group and he was thanked with a small gift by Beverley Kelly.
Our birthday cake, made, iced and decorated by Coral Mitton, was cut by Foundation member, Merle Hughes. The floral and table decorations by Joan Eppelstun, Ruth McKellar, Pam Holland and Committee members were much admired.
Travel Officer, Nola Nobes, reminded Grenfell members of the Mystery Trip leaving from Loaders Depot on Tuesday, November 13 at 8 am, with payment of $82 pp due, in an envelope please, at the October meeting.
Next was the presentation of Lucky Door Prizes, organised by Joan Eppelstun, and the main prize of a basket of fruit was won by first Vice President, Ron Huckel, and his sister Beryl Lavers won Second Prize.
This was followed by thanks from President Coral to all who had helped in any way to facilitate a successful celebration.
Our next meeting will be held on Monday, October 15, with Jan Holland, Pam Holland, Chris Lynch and June Power on the Morning Tea Roster and Jenny Wells on the Door Roster.
