PCYC Cowra is offering school holiday basketball for kids aged 5 years and over with a number of options available including Holiday Basketball Workshops, Aussie Hoops and a 3 on 3 Competition on Friday nights.

This is part of a strategy to increase youth participation in sport whilst also providing positive activities on Friday nights.
The 3 on 3 competition starts Friday, September 28, and teams of 4 are welcome to join U12s, U15s and Open teams. 3 on 3 Basketball is a fast paced version of the game that allows for 3 or more matches in an evening.
Grenfell Suicide Prevention Project Officer Chad White believes this is an excellent opportunity for kids in Grenfell who enjoy playing basketball to be part of an actual competition.
“Activities such as this create a healthy mindset and overall improved well being. It also helps to develop social skills, confidence and the experience and benefits of working in a team.” said Mr White.
To make it easier to join the competition Chad has arranged for community transport to transfer Grenfell players to Cowra and back, please contact Chad to reserve a place on the bus by phoning 0437 229 092.
Holiday Basketball Workshops will also be offered to kids aged between 7- 12 in the first week of the holidays, cost will be $22 for 5 hours from 10am to 3pm. There will be skills sessions in the morning and 3 on 3 games in the afternoon. There will also a one day soccer, football and lazer tag holiday session in Grenfell on Tuesday October 2.
