Colonel Casey visited all four towns that make up the 200 Australian Cadet Unit (Grenfell, Boroowa, Young and Cowra) to speak to cadets and staff regarding the numerous opportunities and benefits offered in the Australian Army Cadets.
During his Grenfell visit Colonel Casey presented a number of cadets with promotions and Commendations. Congratulations to Cadet Jacob Smith who was promoted to Lance Corporal and to CPL (AAC) Baldwin who was promoted to Lieutenant. Unit Assistant Sharron Suitor-Clark and Major (AAC) Mitchell where also presented with a Brigade Commander's Commendation.
The Australian Army Cadets (AAC) is a leading national youth organisation with the character and values of the Australian Army, founded on a strong community partnership, fostering and supporting an on-going interest in the Australian Army.
The AAC provides opportunities for young people from the ages of 12 (turning 13 in the calendar year they join) to 18 years-of-age to develop Courage, Initiative, Teamwork and Respect.
The exciting AAC program allows youth to undertake activities such as abseiling, watermanship, navigation, radio communications, survival and bush skills, first aid and many other challenging activities.
The Grenfell Army Cadets parade every Monday night at the Grenfell Showground.
