The new facility will enhance study options for local students of all ages by giving them the opportunity to study whatever they like.
Member for Cootamundra Steph Cooke and Assistant Minister for Skills Adam Marshall last Friday officially turned the first sod at the site of the new CLC in Melyra Street.
Ms Cooke said students at the digitally powered facility will be able to connect into TAFE NSW’s state-wide network of campuses and courses, giving them more choice when it comes to launching their career.
“We are establishing a brand new TAFE NSW presence in Grenfell and giving the community the vocational education and training facilities it deserves and needs,” said Ms Cooke.
Weddin Shire Mayor Cr Mark Liebich said it is a game changer for the people of Grenfell “You will no longer have to go to Sydney or Wagga or Orange to study, all of these courses will be available here in Grenfell,” said Cr Liebich.
Mr Marshall said CLCs were a core part of the NSW Government’s commitment to strengthen TAFE NSW’s presence in rural and regional NSW and would greatly enhance options for local students.
