Following the very successful sesquicentenary- the 150th anniversary of thoroughbred racing in Grenfell last year where descendants of early committee including Griffiths, Fountain and Knight families returned, the Grenfell Jockey Club looks forward to another successful event on Saturday September 22.
The six race program features the Grenfell Cup as well as the Henry Lawson Loaded Dog Handicap.
The track is in excellent condition despite the ongoing drought and the racing surface should be in tip-top condition for this year’s meeting.
Attractions on the day will include the Grenfell Town and District Band, Fashions on the Field, TAB, Bookmakers, On Course Punter’s Club as well as the usual Bar and Canteen facilities and the Lions’ famous Jumping Castle and Merry Go Round for the kiddies.
Admission this year is $15 per person.
Children under 16 accompanied by a responsible adult will be admitted free of charge.
Tent sites are available – for bookings phone Secretary Terry Carroll 6343 1574 or 0407213033
Everyone must pay on entering the gate.
Those eligible for free entry will be reimbursed at the office.
The Grenfell Jockey Club welcomes all visitors to town.
