2018 NSW State Pennant Finals: Grenfell Grade 7 Pennant team will be travelling to The Entrance this Thursday to play in the 2018 NSW State Pennant Finals. Play will commence Friday August 17 and continue through to the final on Sunday. Grenfell have been drawn in Section 3 where they will play against St.Ives, Jamberoo and Camden RSL. The squad picked to represent Grenfell are: Rob Chambers, John Hunter, Scott Baker, Warren Paine (Skip) Roger Baker, Martin Betcher, Keith Brus, Ross Hunter (Skip) Dennis Hughes, David Hancock, Barry Bradtke, Barry Jones (Skip),Rodney O’Neill. Manager Andrew Armstrong. The Squad should be congratulated on the effort they have been putting into practice. Good luck and bring home the Flag.

Club Championships: In the only Championship match played this week Rhys Hughes and Martin Betcher defeated Mark McSpadden and Gary Pipe in the semi-final of the Minor Pairs. Rhys and Martin hit the ground running, racing to a 20-0 lead after 8 ends, eventually winning 29-9. Rhys and Martin will now play David Frost and John Dumbrell in the Minor Pairs final.
Social Bowls: Social numbers continue to be good with 50 bowlers taking to the greens this week. Prize winners were Chooks: John King, John Grogan and Barry Bradtke x 2; Market Night Vouchers: Barry Jones, Gary Pipe, Col Meyers and Nev Coleman; Free games: Rob Chambers, Dennis Hughes, Scott Baker and David Frost.
Presidents Day: Two Grenfell teams travelled to President Days last Sunday. The team of Kerry Aston, Rob Coleman and Graeme Hunter played at Caragabal and by all reports had a lovely day. The other team of Steve Galvin, Andrew Armstrong and Blake Bradtke played at Forbes winning the day. A reminder that Andrew Armstrong will be holding his Presidents Day on August 26, a list is on the board for Bowlers to nominate as single entries.

Coming Events: Young Bowls Club will host an Open 3 bowl Pairs tournament on August 31 with a 9am start, there will be 3 x 12end games, flyer on board.
