Garth is a volunteer pilot who donates his services to Angel Flight. Angel Flight Australia is a charity which coordinates non-emergency flights to assist country people to access specialist medical treatment that would otherwise be unavailable to them because of vast distance and high travel costs. Jan Jones showed our appreciation to Garth, for his very informative and interesting talk, with a small gift.
President Wendy presented her Annual Report highlighting our fund raising activities for the year. These included a merchandise stall at the Grenfell Show, catering for morning tea and lunch for the Grenfell Garden Club, our popular Melbourne Cup Luncheon, the March Bucket Appeal, and our Summer and Winter Street Stalls.
Wendy also mentioned that our branch always supports Anzac Day, Long Tan and Remembrance Day Services and participates in the wreath laying. The Grenfell Branch also supported the Myanmar and Bangladesh joint appeal with proceeds and donations from our December street stall. The branch also continues to send a Christmas box to people serving in the Armed Forces.
Wendy thanked the Grenfell Garden Club for their unexpected and very generous donation of $1000,00. The Grenfell Branch is very thankful to the community and visitors for supporting the branch so generously.
Our Treasurer, Naomi Steinhart, then presented the Treasurers Report. Both reports were adopted by Glenice Clarke. Glenice then took the chair for the election of office bearers.
