Weddin Shire residents may have noticed the recent installation of fifteen interpretive display signs around Grenfell’s Main and George Streets featuring significant heritage buildings in the town.
This project, assisted by the NSW Government through the Heritage Near Me Program, will be officially launched on Thursday August 2, 2018 and members of the community are invited to come along to the special event.
The official launch will commence at 10 am and will take place at the Grenfell Visitor Information Centre (VIC) located at 88 Main Street.
A short guided tour of George Street will be held after the official launching, conducted by Ms Jackson-Stepowski.
Grenfell’s historic Main and George Streets have an abundance of hidden heritage factors that many residents may be unaware of.
Many of these significant heritage factors lay within the historic building’s brick bonds, leadlight and mosaic tiles.
Sue will take you on a trip back in time with her excellent knowledge of historic architecture.
So why not come along to the official interpretive sign launch event and discover the history and interpret the heritage of our fabulous town. All are welcome to attend.
