During the 12 month period up until March this year the Bureau of Crime Statistics report 106 instances of crime in Weddin Shire.
According to the Bureau the most reported crime in the shire is malicious damage to property with 39 instances reported to police.
In the same period up until March 2017 police investigated 32 cases of malicious damage.
Non domestic violence related assaults jumped from six in 2017 to 10 this year while break and enters (non dwellings) dropped from nine in 2017 to three in the most recent reporting period.
Fraud cases jumped from seven to 11.
Recorded criminal incidents for major offences in Weddin over the 12 months to March this year were:

Sexual assault – 2.
Indecent assault – 2.
Break and enter dwelling – 5.
Break and enter non dwelling 3.
Motor vehicle theft – 4.
Steal from motor vehicle – 5.
Steal from retail store – 3.
Steal from dwelling – 12.
Steal from person – 1.
Fraud – 11.
