In the project Rural Rooms hopes to uncover a unique side to regional towns, adding contributions over time.
Grenfell’s project has been put together by local woman Helen Carpenter.
“My brief was to create a clip using a minimum of 10 images to showcase and tell the story of my community in two minutes,” Helen said.
“Over the coming months I will be working on other stories to promote our community to a wide audience,” she added.
Rural Room Media Stringers Content Manager Gab Major says, “The Rural Room Media Stringers Network is a database of regional creatives tasked with increasing the story telling capacity of regional Australia.
“These stories are leveraged to our extensive Rural Room online audience and beyond, in the hope that they will bring greater understanding to the genuine experience of life outside the city,” Ms Major said.
The ‘TOWNS’ initiative’s goal is to bring awareness to the dynamic energy of regional Australian towns, which is sometimes overlooked.
Over time they will develop a nationwide collective of stories from towns all over regional Australia that will be digitally presented to the world.
The Rural Room Media Stringers Network, comprises photographers, writers, journalists, artists, videographers, designers, marketers and performers from remote areas all over the country.
The creative talents from areas all over Regional Australia share stories, through a variety of mediums, to provide an authentic snapshot of life in the country.
Bec Bignell, Rural Room Founder says, “Rural Room has an extensive footprint online and throughout local communities”.
“We identified incredible creative talent among our audience and want to cultivate this talent to grow their influence and promote diverse stories and new storytellers,” she said.
Rural Room is a creative hub, which aims to release more stories from the sticks and generate a sustainable story telling legacy in regional communities.
It coordinates annual multi-media projects in regional areas and this year is producing a fictional regional web series, Rain Dance, and is launching the Agri-Arts-Activator.
