Brent strives to tell the stories of ordinary people, by connecting their personalities with particular aspects of their lives, in order to create photographs that reveal an untold side of his chosen subject to the audience. Continuing on from previous work as well as new ideas, as he commenced his Masters of Creative Practice, he intends to show how different people, from all different walks of life all come together to create and uphold the culture and community of which we live in.
"I work within the genre of photography best known as environmental portraiture, I use the environment in which the person is located to contribute to the story being told through photograph. I use both artificial and natural lighting compositions, as well as analogue techniques to complement my digital photographic practice."
His aim is to work with people from within the local community, both in Grenfell and further afield, to exhibit a cohesive body of work displayed as photographic prints that effectively shows the audience a side of someone that they may never have seen before.
The exhibition will run from June 13 to July 22, 2018. For more information contact 02 6343 2059.
