Welcome to guests and visitors to the Henry Lawson Festival.
We hope you enjoy your stay. Grenfell has a range of attractions that are available for visitors and locals as well as brilliant facilities to use including parks, playgrounds, a state-of-the-art aquatic centre (in the summer), skate park and loads more.
Who would have thought from it’s humble beginning in 1958 that the Festival would have grown to what it is today to perpetuate the memory of Grenfell’s No 1 son Henry Lawson, one of Australia's best loved poets and writers of short stories
The Festival is one of the longest running arts events in NSW and 2018 sees it celebrate its 61st year and will also see the town celebrate Henry’s 151st birthday on June 17.
Grenfell invites everyone back on September 22 to enjoy the Henry Lawson “Loaded Dog’ Annual Race Meeting.
18th BIRTHDAY:
Congratulations to Isabelle Hunter who celebrated her 18th Birthday last week.
Isabelle had school friends and family joining her in the celebrations at the Grenfell Bowling Club.
The highlight of the evening was Isabelle's cake, a Star Wars themed cake which was made and decorated for her by cousins Courtney, Josh and Austin Liebich with some help also from cousin Tegan Hunter.
Another highlight of the evening was a power-point presentation of Isabelle over the last 18 years.
AWARDS NIGHT:
Grenfell Rotary President Ross Craven and Ron and Jan McLelland travelled to Sydney to support former local Ambulance Officer Bill Atchison at the Awards Night at Bankstown Sports Club on June 1.
Bill was one of four finalists in the NSW Emergency Services Community Awards 2018, run by NSW & ACT Rotary Districts and Clubs.
FESTIVAL
FUNDRAISER:
A very successful and well attended fundraiser was held at Bernadette Dykhoff’s home on Saturday June 2 for Grenfell Lions’ Club 2018 Festival Queen Entrant – May Suzuki.
Held in the heated courtyard and covered outdoor area, guests enjoyed hot soups, followed by a wonderful selection of casseroles and sweets.
May thanked Bernadette and the Lions Club for supporting her during her fundraising activities.

If you are looking for a great evening or afternoon’s entertainment over the Henry Lawson Festival weekend, the Grenfell Dramatic Society which has had a very long association with the Henry Lawson Festival, has it all for you.
