The Grenfell Dramatic Society are performing this hilarious satire on Sunday evening and Monday afternoon of the long weekend, and the following Friday and Saturday night.
After being an Australia Day Ambassador on a number of occasions, Jonathan Biggins wrote Australia Day not as a criticism of Australians or their day of celebration, but rather as a satirical look at "the committee" (any committee), about cultural beliefs, the political process and "change".
Whether you have served on a community, cultural, sporting or church committee we are sure you will recognise some of the characters or the views they express in this biting comedy.
The Grenfell production features Matthew Lynch as mayor Brian Harrigan, Adam Herdman as his deputy Robert Wilson, Peter Soley as builder and small scale developer Wally Stewart and Jesse Friend as a new to the town school teacher. Gai Lander plays CWA president Maree and Di Donahue plays Helen McInnes a local greens councillor, relatively new to the district.
Roma Sinclair as prompt, and Stephen Griffin as director have led the Dramatic Society team.
Book your tickets at C J Anderson, or come to the Little Theatre in Rose Street one hour before each performance to secure your tickets for a fun show.

Show times for each of the four hilarious performances are as follows:
FESTIVAL WEEKEND: Sunday June 10 at 7.30pm and a matinee on Monday June 11 at 2pm.
Two further performances will take place on Friday June 15 and Saturday June 16 at 7.30pm.
The theatre is comfortably heated so come along and enjoy the performance and supper all for $20, or $15 for high school students. The play is probably not suitable for younger children, as there is a warning for occasional coarse language.
